        <li>Apache ActiveMQ Artemis has been working towards adding ActiveMQ 5.x equivalent features and client compatibility improvements:</li>

          <li>The OpenWire protocol module has been completely refactored, improvements include:</li>
          <ul>
            <li>Improved message encoding support with increased performance</li>
            <li>Cluster connections can now be configured using ActiveMQ 5.x style URI</li>
          </ul>
          <li>Equivalent implementations of all ActiveMQ 5.x JAAS modules are now available in Artemis</li>
          <li>Artemis has initial support for database backed Journal.</li>
          <li>Various improvements and bug fixes to:</li>
          <ul>
            <li>HA Replication, STOMP protocol module, File Journal Storage.</li>
          </ul>
        </ul>
      </ul>

        <li>Currently 20 PMC members</li>
      </ul>
