OOo.org QA Mailing lists you should join & read

The QA project has all of it's discussions on the following mailing list:

qa@openoffice.apache.org

Mailing List Etiquette

To keep discussions productive and civil, please keep the following rules in mind:

There is no such thing as a "dumb" question.

People are anxious to participate in this project so we will get questions that might be answered in documentation or prior posts. Just politely direct the poster to the correct place to find their answer.
Remember, questions are a great way to learn from each other!

Everyone is allowed to have a opinion.

Discussions are all about exploring different perspectives that everyone brings to the table. Take the time to read other people's post and try to understand their perspective. Comment on the merits of the facts stated. Leave out comments that have no bearing on the topic or may be interpreted as a personal attack.

Offensive and rude language/comments are not tolerated.

Whether it's in your comments or in your signature, offensive and rude language may be a concise way to let the world know how you feel, but it also tends to send a discussion spiralling down into a unproductive waste of arguements.

It's not personal!

Discussions can get passionate at times, during which people tend to defend their positions with passion and conviction. Don't lose sight that it's a discussion where compromises or decisions will be made that might not leave you satisfied. If you are getting to point where you feel angry or frustrated, step away from the discussion and focus on something else for a while.

Please use relevant subject lines!

The mailing list tends to generate a lot of messages and there is only going to be more in the future. Please help everyone sort through the messages easier by using relevant subject lines. If you want to change the topic in the middle of a new thread, please change the subject line to reflect your new line of thought.
