| <p>Due to increased interest and wider participation, the closing date for |
| new splash screen submissions for the upcoming OpenOffice.org 2.0 release |
| has been extended. |

| <p><strong>The new deadline for splash screen submissions is Friday, December 10.</strong></p> |

| <p>The new splash screen is to be ready for integration into the first |
| release candidate (RC1) to be available in January 2005.</p> |
| <p>Submissions are being collected in issue 36491, see: |
| <a href="http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=36491">http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=36491</a>. |
| Please continue to attach your submissions to this issue. Do not send |
| them to any email discussion list.</p> |
| <p>Note: The size has not been specified and artists participating in the |
| Art Project (<a href="http://marketing.openoffice.org/art/">http://marketing.openoffice.org/art/</a>) have discussed on the |

| various sizes and some are following previous specifications. See the |
| attachments associated with issue 36491 for existing submissions and |
| example sizes.</p> |
| <p>Artists who have submitted previous designs, please indicate which ones |
| you wish to include for voting by commenting on the issue used to collect |
| the splash screens or sending a message to |
| art@marketing.openoffice.org.</p> |
| <p>Community members will be notified of when voting begins after the closing |
| date for submissions. In the meantime, we look forward to receiving more |
| submissions for a new splash screen.</p> |
