 <h1>Deployment Descriptor Visual Editor: Environment</h1>
 <a name="BEGIN" id="BEGIN"></a>
 <p>The deployment descriptor visual editor lets you edit the platform-specific deployment descriptor for the GlassFish application server as defined in <code dir="ltr">glassfish-web.xml</code> or <code dir="ltr">glassfish-application-client.xml</code>.</p>
 <p>The deployment descriptor is found under the project's Configuration Files node in the Projects window and clicking the Environment tab in the visual editor</p>
 <p>If any configuration information for the project is not specified in this server-specific descriptor file, it defaults to a corresponding setting in the general descriptor file for the application, if an equivalency exists.</p>
 <p>The Environment tab contains the following sections for editing the deployment descriptor properties of reference elements. If no reference element exists, you can create new references elements to the descriptor file by selecting the section title and then clicking the button to add a new reference element. When you create a new reference element it is visible as a node under the section. The IDE generates a default reference name.</p>
