| <p>To create a new branch out of the checked out revision, choose the <b>Checkout as New Branch</b> option, enter the name in the Branch Name field, and then click <b>Checkout</b> to check out the revision.</p> |
| <p><b>Note</b>: If you specify a general revision (not a branch) or do not select the <b>Checkout as New branch</b> option, the HEAD becomes detached and you are no longer on a branch.</p> |
