| Once you install the plugin, you simply run the initialization script, <<s2-quickstart>>, and make any required configuration changes in `application.groovy` / `application.yml`. The plugin registers its servlet API configuration (the Spring Security filter chain, etc.) programmatically, not in `web.xml` as was the case in earlier versions, and also configures the Spring beans in the application context that implement various pieces of functionality. Dependency management determines which jar files to use. |
