Title: Press Release Boilerplates license: https://www.apache.org/licenses/LICENSE-2.0

The Apache Software Foundation (ASF) maintains a number of boilerplates, or short paragraphs describing the ASF for use in releases or announcements of various kinds.

Note: Formal press releases (i.e. distributed through newswires) made by the ASF, or jointly made with another organization must be approved by the VP, Marketing and Publicity before release, and must include the press release boilerplate below. Third parties may not use the ASF boilerplate in releases without explicit permission.

Press Release Boilerplate

Formal press releases on behalf of the ASF must use the long form of the press release boilerplate below, unless there is a specific reason to use the short form.

About The Apache Software Foundation (ASF)

Established in 1999, the all-volunteer Foundation oversees more than sixty-five leading Open Source projects, including Apache HTTP Server -- the world‘s most popular Web server software. Through The ASF’s meritocratic process known as “The Apache Way”, nearly 300 individual Members and 2,000 Committers successfully collaborate to develop freely available enterprise-grade software, benefiting millions of users worldwide: thousands of software solutions are distributed under the Apache License; and the community actively participates in ASF mailing lists, mentoring initiatives, and ApacheCon, the Foundation's official user conference, trainings, and expo. The ASF is funded by individual donations and corporate sponsors including Google, HP, Microsoft, Progress Software, SpringSource, and Yahoo!

Project Release Or General Announcement Boilerplate

Project release announcements or other general public announcements made by any ASF PMC should use the general boilerplate below as a way to show consistency and community across the various projects at the ASF. Append this as part of the footer of any major email announcements made.

For best results, make the link clickable, and always send it to the apache.org home page.

About The Apache Software Foundation (ASF)

Established in 1999, The Apache Software Foundation provides organizational, legal, and financial support for more than 100 freely-available, collaboratively-developed Open Source projects. The pragmatic Apache License enables individual and commercial users to easily deploy Apache software; the Foundation's intellectual property framework limits the legal exposure of its 2,500+ contributors.
