  "message": "On the diff-cmd branch:\n\nAddressing issue 2044, extending the invocation capabilities of the\nsvn diff --diff-cmd.\n\nSee http://subversion.tigris.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id\u003d2044\n\nThis is an intermediate attempt for discussion and contains 2 bugs:\n\n1) /subversion/tests/cmdline/diff_tests.py 52 is an XFAIL.  Input\n   appears to be correct, but the test script with a space in the name\n   \"diff script\" is not called, this may be an apr_proc_create()\n   issue.\n\n2) Emtpy single quotes are rendered as \u0027\u0027\u0027\u0027 by apr_proc_create().\n\n\n* subversion/BRANCH-README\n\n   Decription of this Branch.\n\n* subversion/include/private/svn_io_private.h \n\n    (svn_io__create_custom_diff_cmd): Declare new function and\n      document it. This function is an intermediate version and will\n      be refactored once the behaviour is settled.\n\n* subversion/libsvn_subr/io.c \n\n    (svn_io__create_custom_diff_cmd): New Function. This function\n      translates user input to diff input.\n\n    (svn_io_run_diff): Refactor function to preserve old behaviour of \n      --diff-cmd whilst facilitiating the new extended syntax. \n\n* subversion/tests/cmdline/diff_tests.py \n\n    (test_list): Add new tests diff_external_diffcmd_1,\n       diff_external_diffcmd_2, diff_external_diffcmd_3 and\n       diff_external_diffcmd_4.\n\n    (diff_external_diffcmd): Change test description, rename the test\n      script \u0027diff\u0027 to the more descriptive \u0027diff_script.\n\n    (diff_external_diffcmd_1): New function. Test that the\n      --extensions option works as before when the --diff-cmd is used\n      with the classic syntax.\n\n    (diff_external_diffcmd_2): New function. Check that the new syntax\n      produces a correct, simple diff program call.\n\n    (diff_external_diffcmd_3): New function.  This case handles the\n      cases of -filename or filename+ where + and - are placeholders\n      for any chosen character. Check that strings containing spaces\n      enclosed in double quotes are correct parsed as one entry into\n      the execv compatible shell command array.\n\n    (diff_external_diffcmd_4): New function with XFAIL result. Check\n      that escaped spaces are correctly handled, in case the user has\n      a program name with a space in it.
