There is a scheme preference, I couldn’t find it in the config.xml docs, but it’s in the cordova-android 9 release blog post Note that it’s also available for iOS so better put it inside android tag as http/https can’t be used on iOS

If you are using http at the moment, I guess you are using ionic webview, then you can use that preference already
