Ok, so I found a way to know that the error is client side by testing
error.error instanceof ProgressEvent
. This works well on stackblitz when I tested on my desktop but fails on cordova. In the console when I connect chrome to the app I see that I get a ProgressEvent but it returns false forinstanceof
. I describbed the issue here: https://github.com/angular/angular/issues/34748#issuecomment-989752137|https://github.com/angular/angular/issues/34748#issuecomment-989752137 Is this related to cordova or to Angular? Does cordova mock/implement part of the XHR stuff?

Cordova doesn't mock/override
XMLHttpRequest
but I know there are plugins out there that does to proxyXMLHttpRequest
so that requests are sent to the native layer and done natively instead of using the browsers implementation.

I'm not aware of any plugins that does that for android though... on iOS, they are generally your xhr fix plugins to work around CORS/cookie issues.
