This is a struggle... I'm working with a legacy project based on Cordova v8.1.2. It looks like Cordova-iOS >5.*. Do I have any other options here?

your url is pointing to a folder, not a file.

i don't think hash tags work on a folder directory (not sure if index.html is assumed either on file system paths)

Actually i bunded the angular project. So it technically angular routing. it works when i start app and go all over the app. but when i open an url in new tab and press back the routing is not working.

Not realy familiar with angular but there is a backbutton event that you can hook into. I use it to determine if there is back history to go to in my history stack or to exit the app

https://cordova.apache.org/docs/en/10.x/cordova/events/events.html#backbutton

I wouldn't know how to integrate that with the angular routing API though.
